Transcript of Marina Lewycka Interview Video Content

After a lifetime of unpublished writing, Marina Lewycka's world changed three years ago with the publication of A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian. As much thanks to word of mouth as to being on the Booker Long list in 2005, her work is now translated into more than 30 languages. Her latest book We are all made of Glue really is about adhesives but  it's also about metaphorical glue, which binds us together as human being.  Listen to Marina Lewycka talking about the bonding of human relationships, and why she felt discussing the Middle East conflict shouldn't be out of bounds for a comic writer.

We are all Made of Glue

After a lifetime of unpublished writing, Marina Lewycka's world changed three years ago with the publication of A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian. As much thanks to word of mouth as to being on the Booker Long list in 2005, her work is now translated into more than 30 languages.

Her latest book We are all Made of Glue really is about adhesives but  it's also about metaphorical glue, which binds us together as human beings.

Listen to Marina Lewycka talking about the bonding of human relationships, her elderly Jewish heroine Mrs. Shapiro and why she felt discussing the Middle East conflict shouldn't be out of bounds for a comic writer.

So what did you think of this interview? Please do spare a couple of minutes to let us know!

Iain Tomlie did...

"Great to hear the spoken voice having listened to all three "voices" from her books.

She really IS a fantastically inventive and original writer, though I dread what they will do if they film "tractors"."

Many thanks for your comments Iain..
