Isa & May
Margaret Forster talks to Nicola Barranger about her latest
novel - Isa and May which examines the rôle of the
grandmother in families.
Listen to hear Margaret Forster discuss whether or not we have a
right to dig up our ancestors' past and indeed whether they have
the right to keep things secret from us.
Isamay has two grandmothers, indeed her name is an amalgamation
of both their names. Each is very different and both demand a
separate role from their granddaughter. Meanwhile Isamay is
preparing an MA into famous figures in history who happen to be
grandmothers. But what right does she have to uncover her own
grandmothers' stories?
Grateful thanks, once again to Writer Pictures for many
of
the shots
