The Last Weekend
Blake Morrison, one of the UK's best loved writers (and author
of the much acclaimed And When did you Last see your
Father?) talks to The Interview Online
about his latest novel The Last Weekend. Two university
friends, Ian & Ollie plan a weekend away with their
partners.
What should be a perfect long weekend develops into a chilling
opportunity to revive some long-standing opinions and prejudices,
bets and challenges.
In
the video, Blake Morrison talks about the plot, why he wanted
to write from Ian's points of view and how he hopes the reader will
judge the characters.
- So what did you think of this interview? Please do spare
a couple of minutes to let us know!
Caroline Mackenzie from Suffolk UK wrote...
I really found this interview interesting and will buy the
book both for my husband and my brother in law, who will no dought
recognise similar relationship connections in the story. I too am
interested in these rivalry connections but between siblings
especially my sister and I.(The next book perhaps?) I really love
the way Blake writes and talks about the difficulties and joys of
being human. It's like listening to my own soul being
heard.
